This is a contemporary abstract encaustic artwork by Canadian artist, Anastessia Bettas. Anastessia's work is a reflection of her fascination with the fragmented, grid-like patterns found in nature which she uses to abstractly capture the essence of landscapes and journeys.

As part of the artist's Rewilding series inspired by the global initiative to restore, heal and conserve the environment, the piece evokes topographical elements of forested valleys, rolling plains and lakes, Anastessia draws inspiration from the colours, forms, and the rich textures found in “rewilded” landscapes then translate these elements into abstract compositions that evoke feelings of hope and interconnectedness with nature.
